Costumes, Canvases, & Catrinas: October Turns in Camberville

The cobwebs might come down, but the buzz hangs in the air. Halloween lingers with themed LEGO nights for adults, Remnant’s Taco Bell takeover, bar crawls through Porter Square, and paint nights that double as date nights. By the weekend, the city bursts with color and memory; Día de los Muertos celebrations, community cleanups, and 5Ks that keep the rhythm going long after the candy’s gone

Heads Up!

  • Starting this weekend, you may start seeing two emails a week (one dedicated to local events for the upcoming week (M-F) and the other likely on Thursday for the upcoming weekend events). Part of the reason is because a large portion of subscribers are still locked in to work earlier in the week tend to miss out on beginning and mid-week happenings. But also, it means more Stoop finds for you guys! This lets me fit in more curated social events for the entire week that would normally get cut off, as each email only fits about twenty per send.

  • If you’re a new subscriber, a friendly nudge that if you’re seeing an odd color scheme on The Stoop while on your phone, switching to light mode will render the correct red/beige colors (if it matters at all). Evenutally, I’ll either convince Beehiiv to modify this or I’ll just have to conquer graphic design.
